Her biomedical research has focused on the development of new medicines to treat serious diseases including cancer, Ebola, Yellow Fever, and rare genetic diseases, and FDA-approved medicines for high cholesterol and hereditary angioedema. In 2016, she ran as a Democrat to represent Florida’s 9th Congressional district.

Dr. Grayson earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Florida (Phi Beta Kappa, High Honors), and her M.D. (Alpha Omega Alpha) and Ph.D. in biochemistry and molecular cell biology from the Washington University in St. Louis. Born and raised in a small Florida beach town, she is the first female member of her family to graduate from college.
